Nacido LUIS MIGUEL CORONEL GAMEZ in Tucson, Arizona, Luis se ha convertido en uno de los artistas más exitosos de la música latina. Para muchos, él es el chico de ensueño con una voz suave y dulce sonrisa, pero es sus ganas de compartir que resuena con sus fans. Mientras su carrera florece, sus valores, integridad y ética de trabajo son los que realmente alimentan el fuego de su pasión por la música.
Sus padres son de México, su madre de Sonora y su difunto padre de Durango. Juntos criaron a sus tres hijos, Luis siendo el más joven. Su abuelo materno, cariñosamente conocido como “Tata,” lo inspiró a cantar cuando era pequeño, especialmente durante las reuniones familiares. A los seis años de edad, Luis recuerda cantar canciones en el coro de la iglesia, aprendiéndoselas de forma rápida y luego cantándolas en el escenario.
Poco sabía Luis que se estaba preparando para una carrera en la música mientras utilizaba las redes sociales para hacer amigos, compartir fotos, vídeos y conectarse con un grupo de seguidores que eventualmente se convertirían en sus fans. La mayor sorpresa se produjo cuando era un adolescente y subió a Facebook su propia versión de la canción de compositor mexicano Horacio Palencia, “Mi Niña Traviesa”. Al día siguiente, Luis se despertó para descubrir su versión de la pegadiza canción de amor había recibido miles de “likes” en la red social. Así, accidentalmente, nació su carrera; el cantante soñaba con un camino diferente al principio, pero realmente la música era lo que lo movía artística y creativamente.
Desde entonces, Luis ha conquistado los listados de Billboard, se ha convertido en una personalidad en programas de televisión de mayor sintonía, ha tenido giras constantes a diferentes lugares con entradas totalmente agotadas y ha grabado canciones de amor que han catapultado el cantautor a los corazones de todos en EE.UU. y Latinoamérica. Siendo un fenómeno en las redes sociales con los seguidores en los millones, contando con una base de fans muy energética y una carrera creciendo a leguas, Luis es una encantadora estrella que inspira lo mejor de la generación joven, inteligente y conocedora del milenio.

Luis se ha convertido en un nombre familiar para los jóvenes latinos bilingües. Musicalmente, Luis ha publicado dos álbumes, incluyendo “Con La Frente en Alto” y “Quiero Ser Tu Dueño”, el cual presenta una colección de composiciones poéticas como la tierna balada “Tenerte” y el divertido sencillo, “Cuando La Miro”.
Luis se convirtió en el solista más joven en llegar al #1 en el listado Top Latin Álbums de Billboard en 13 años (a lo largo de los 21 años de historia de la cartelera), una hazaña que fue posible gracias a “Quiero Ser Tu Dueño”, que ya ha sido certificado como oro por la Asociación de la Industria de grabación de América, y ya se acerca el disco de platino también.
En 2013, Luis formó parte de una exitosa gira por EE.UU. con Gerardo Ortiz, Recoditos y Banda El Recodo. Aparte de ser presentado regularmente en programas de televisión en los EE.UU., Luis fue también un juez en el popular show “La Academia Kids” (Azteca Red) en México y se unió como juez al show de Estrella TV, “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento” y también en “Pequeños Gigantes USA” televisado por Univision.
En el 2014, Luis celebra su victoria en Premios Lo Nuestro como “Artista Masculino del Año.” Demostrando que sabe más que cantar, Luis fue co-presentador de la transmisión online en vivo del espectáculo detrás de cámaras, entrevistó a los ganadores y otras celebridades en vivo desde el American Airlines Arena en Miami.
El artista no se detuvo en el 2015, llevando a casa premios clave como “Mejor Nuevo Artista” en los Premios Billboard y Premios de la Radio, y como el “Artista Con Más Potencial Éxito” además de haber sido premiado por la mejor canción de amor durante Premios De La Calle. Cerrando el año en el estilo, el artista ofreció un concierto especial de Navidades en Anaheim, California, llamado “Una Noche Navideña con Luis Coronel”, el cual reunió a más de cientos de aficionados durante las dos presentaciones.
El 2016 ha demostrado ser más exitosa que cualquier año anterior. Como si fuera poco, Luis fue uno de los artistas principales en Premio Lo Nuestro 2016, gala durante la cual su talento y su inmensa influencia sobre la industria y sus fans fueron reconocidos al llevarse a casa los premios por “Álbum del Año - Regional Mexicano” y “Artista Masculino del Año - Regional Mexicano.”
En mayo, en medio de un exitoso año, Luis fue anunciado como uno de los artistas con el mayor número de nominaciones para los Premios Juventud, dominando en seis diferentes categorías que incluyen: "Mi Artista Regional Mexicano"; "La Combinación Perfecta," por "Como Duele El Silencio" (Leslie Grace feat. Born LUIS MIGUEL CORONEL GAMEZ in Tucson, Arizona, Luis has become one of the most successful entertainers in Latin music. To many, he is the dreamy guy with a smooth voice and sweet smile, but it is his openness that resonates with his fans. As Luis’s career blossoms, it is his values, integrity and work ethic that fuels his passion.
Luis’s mother hails from Sonora, Mexico and his late father from Durango, Mexico. Together they raised their three children, with Luis being the youngest. His maternal grandfather, affectionately known as “Tata,” inspired Luis to sing as a child when he belted out songs during family gatherings. At six years old, Luis remembers singing Christian songs in the church choir, learning them quickly and performing them on stage.
Little did Luis know that he was preparing for a career in music as he used social media to make friends, share photos, videos and connect with an online group of followers who would eventually become his fans. The biggest surprise came during Luis’s mid-teens when he uploaded his own version of Mexican songwriter Horacio Palencia’s song “Mi Niña Traviesa” to Facebook. The next day, Luis woke up to discover his version of the catchy love song had received thousands of likes on the social media network. His accidental career was born; the singer dreamed of a different path at first, but it was music that moved him artistically and creatively.
Since then, Luis has conquered the Billboard charts, become a fixture on top-rated television shows, tours consistently to sold-out venues and has recorded signature songs of love that have catapulted the singer/songwriter into the hearts of America and Latin America. A social media phenomenon with followers in the millions, a highly spirited fan base and a rapidly rising career of fever-pitch proportions, the charming teen star embodies and inspires the best of the youthful, smart and savvy millennial generation.
Radio stations, concert venues, television programs and social media platforms from Facebook to Instagram have placed Luis’s career on an upward trajectory. Since breaking out two years ago, the star has become a strong, bold and vibrant singer with a global following.

In 2013, Luis was part of a successful U.S. tour featuring Gerardo Ortiz, Recoditos and Banda El Recodo. Apart from being featured regularly on television network shows in the U.S., Luis was also a judge on the popular long-running “La Academia Kids” (Azteca Network), as well as a judge on Estrella TV’s “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento,” and on Univision’s “Pequeño Gigantes USA.”
In 2014, Luis celebrated his win at Premios Lo Nuestro as the “Male Artist of the Year.” Showing that he is talented in more than singing, Luis co-hosted the show’s live streaming behind-the-scenes program, interviewed winners and other celebrities in Miami, all live from the American Airlines Arena.
The artist did not slow down in 2015, as he took home key prizes such as “Best New Artist” at the Billboard Latin Music Awards and Premios De La Radio, the “Artist Most Likely to Succeed” at Premios De La Calle in addition to being honored for the “Best Love Song” honors. Closing the year in style, the artist hosted a special holiday concert in Anaheim, California, named “Una Noche Navideña con Luis Coronel,” which gathered over hundreds of fans during the two performances.
2016 proved to be more successful than any previous year.
